Yoga Class
Through a sequence of breathing practices (Pranayama), physical postures (Asanas), relaxation and stillness I gently guide students inwards. Paying attention to the sensations in the body and anchoring the awareness through the breath, encourage a deeper inner connection.
Letting go of the thinking mind, which is focused in the past or future, and trusting in the wisdom of the body helps to deepen the sense of presence. I offer practices which help develop a rooted center and provide the stability and strength which forms the foundation for freedom of movement and flexibility.
Learning to align the body from within and tuning in to the flow of energy or life force (Prana/ Ki/ Chi ) enhances mobility and our physical, mental and emotional state. Since all our experiences in life are held in the body we often learn to disconnect and avoid what feels uncomfortable. I encourage students to explore imbalances through bringing awareness to the discomfort and the inner workings of the body, offering ways to promote health and healing and deeper states of mind.
