Mexico
Wattusi is a music project born from Mexican brothers Octavio and Bernardo Torija. Between the two of them, they play a wide variety of instruments such as synthesisers, electric bass, congas, ukulele, clarinet, alto saxophone and Mexican traditional instruments such as jacana and requinto jarocho. Different music styles converge in their project creating a very unique flavour. Their influences are many, and they go from traditional African and latin rhythms to electronic music like break beats, house, techno and downtempo with tribal oriental touches. They have also produced music for short films and the soundtrack for filmmaker Kalina Bertin´s latest documentary (Manic). They are currently working on a live set Ecstatic-Dance and recording their new material.
